could be my pc is messed up but i don't know the problem i originally though it might have been the way my at&t software was configured the other thing is when you view the html pages stored on the router "the router setup" loading each page is suppose to be instantaneous but it's not it takes a minute or 2 the tech support thats not supposed to happen it's really pissing me off paid 50 bucks for the router
and i can't even use it's just sitting on top of my computer doing nothing plus i need the inter net really bad on my other comps for updates and lan play etc

i might call at&t tech support

Well, what type of security settings have you applied through the router? How are the devices connected?

Did you plug the DSL line into the uplink of the router? Have you rebooted everything? I.e. Turn off router, computer, and reboot?

So far any thing you asked or suggested isn't any thing the tech support hasn't asked or said. also my windows 98 machine doesn't even realize it's hooked up to the router of course that 98 machine is really fucked up so the question is i think is it my Ethernet card or another bad router because this computer has a wait time accessing the router and the 98 machine doesn't even know it's there.

And Ven thats sad you must be bored spamming your own forums.

Look, without sitting at your console I can offer you only some assistance.

My advice:

1) Check your connections to ensure all devices are hooked up and powered on.
2) Check cables to ensure that every CAT5 (I assume) cable runs properly.
3) Keep your network simple, at first. You mentioned in the forums you also run a firewall. It's great to have, but let's not complicate your need for a basic setup.
4) Check the settings on your router. Too much complexity and your striving for more headaches.
5) Check your network settings on each machine. I'd hate to say it, but pre-2000 Windows machines are a bitch to work with.
6) If all else fails, check the operator. (i.e. You, CJJ.) =) There could be something that the operator has overlooked or made too complex or not setup properly.

Ask me either in PM or in this thread about each item listed here. Well, except for #6. I'll try my best to explain what to look for and some settings that I have used in the past. Note: I have not touched Win98 in years. Also, try to get one PC running on your network at a time.

Hehe.. Yes! And that INCLUDES if the charge is negative.. ie. if he offers people money for it (not an unlikely scenario) :)
